Personal Statement

I am a Board Certified General Adult Psychiatrist who has been actively practicing in both inpatient and outpatient settings (majority outpatient) for the last twenty (20) yrs since I graduated as a Chief Resident from MCV/VCU in 2005. I started my own private practice in June 2023 (Living Your Best, LLC) and am currently accepting new patients, ages 18-65. I consider myself to not only have consistent active listening skills, but pride myself in my all-inclusive, biopsychosocial approach to help you with your struggles and reach your highest potential, all while maintaining an empathetic and sincere nature.

With every doctor-patient relationship my goal is to consistently treat you with respect in a non-judgmental and safe environment. I utilize multiple therapy modalities to help in areas such as (not inclusive) Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Women's issues (PMDD, Peri/Post partum, Peri/Post menopausal), Adjustment, Psychotic Disorders

With my unique and comprehensive style of practicing, I combine a therapeutic approach/intervention alongside medication management for those patients that desire more than just medication management alone. My goal is to 1) Help overcome the stigma attached to psychiatric patients and 2) Never overlook the very real pain experienced by mental health patients.

I have a special interest in treating women with PMDD, perinatal and postnatal mood/anxiety issues.

I offer both in person and virtual visits (on-line) M-TH, as well as free 15 minute intro calls. My new patient appointments are approximately 1 hour and my follow up appointments are approximatly 20 minutes. I accept insurance, out of pocket, and new patients are welcome!

Through the Headway billing platform, I am in- network with Anthem, Carelon, Aetna and United (Optum, Oscar, Oxford-) Self Pay is always an option with ability to provide a superbill for out-of-network clients.. No Medicare or Medicaid accepted.
